  1. We have one of these fences. It was good for establishing a boundary in our backyard and far away from the street that the dogs quickly learned to respect, but, then we built a real fence and disconnected this one. The problem was neighbors’ free-roaming dogs coming into our yard.

The very worst thing about electronic fences is that, when you walk by others’ homes where there are these invisible fences, the dogs come charging out to the boundary line. it scares you to death. You don’t see the dog or know there’s an invisible fence until you see or hear the dog come charging. Sometimes the dogs stop a few feet away, but sometimes they cross over the curb. These fences ought not be used in city settings.

It took me 2 days to install it. The instructions arent that good, I says to deep 2, I thought it was 2 feet and its only 2 inches.

I realized this after I digged the whole day.

The product works really well. I started to use it on my 5 months Terrier, it hit him 2 times, but he just moved his head, I thought wow, this doesnt do anything. So i adjusted the trap tighter and the little guy just screaming for his life, he actually went trought the fence.

So, yes, Please see the video and train your dog, dogs will not run backwards, this is what you have to train him. To be honest I did not trained him exactly like the instruction but my dog got the point in 2 weeks or so.

The last time he had his collar was 6 months ago. I never had to put it on him again. He never goes over his limit. The little flags I left for 4 months or more, so he grow with them and knows his limit perfectly.

Sometimes im afraid he will cross, so i put the collar one, but he never actually goes near, he only has to hear the sound and knows he isnt allowed to pass. And like I said he only was hit 2 or 3 times in his life by the electricity, one was because i tested it myself. Im not mean but i wanted to be sure he will not cross the street and die hit by a car or stolen by someone.

His is incredible smart. Or stupid in this case, since i dont need the collar, or turn this thing on at all for months now.

I guess this is because I trained him when he was very little.

This product is incredible. I have no fence and he stays inside the boundary. He is so afraid of the limit I have to carry him in my arms when I need to take him out since he will not cross the limit by nothing in the world.

I will probably now get the no barking device for him as well, since he just barks for hours at night and cannot take it anymore. Funny is he starts to bark everyday at 7 PM until 10 PM when he goes to sleep right after me.

We have a Border Collie/Terrier mix who is still a puppy. He loves to run and play with other dogs. We didn’t have fences on the sides of our house so instead of putting them up we got the Innotek SD2000 In-Ground Pet Fencing system. We installed it on our own and it worked out pretty well. I suggest putting aside 4-5 hours to complete the installation for a 1/2 acre piece of property. It works well and now after about four weeks we can let our dog run and we know that he will not run away. We have many dogs on our street(about 11) and he never goes out of the boundries. One dog is always escaping but our dog knows that there is a punishment for going out of the boundry.

I installed this product about a month ago and so far it’s kept two golden retrievers from wandering around the town.

I checked out these invisible fences everywhere, comparing prices before I bought. Amazon has the best deal with the Innotek…and I’m so thrilled I went with the bargain. I have 4 Lhasa Apso…and they are stubborn little suckers. But this fence, only turned 3/4 of the way up, manages to keep them in, and they’ve actually learned where their boundaries are…I can turn the fence off and they still won’t go beyond that point. I’m not going to pretend it wasn’t hard work installing the wire…it wasn’t difficult, just alot of work…you have to bury the wire, at least an inch to be safe, we found–so someone has to dig and someone has to push in the wire and cover it up. By the time we were done, we’d perfected it, and it was much easier, but it was hard work. But well worth it!! I now feel safe leaving my babies outside when I leave home, and no worries that they won’t be safely inside their boundary when I come home…and for such an awesome price!! And the shipping was FAST…I got it within 2 days of ordering. Very impressed, and thrilled with my purchase. Would recommend this to anyone who has pets!!
